Tray Dahl & The Jugtime Ragband tear down the house with the explosive sound of 1920’s and 30’s New Orleans. Their “speakeasy” or “prohibition era” music incorporates a little blues, a bit of swing, and a pinch of old time gospel. Add to that Tray’s powerful 1920’s inspired vocals, often described as Bessie Smith meets Louis Armstrong, and audiences feel like they’ve stepped straight into a 1920’s theatre house. Tray’s original tunes, some of which she sold to Universal Music Group, are often mistaken for Jazz-Age compositions and are being used in movies, radio and television throughout the world.
