Tech Tales - Storytime for Young Explorers

Tech Tales is the Computer Museum of America's weekly summer story reading series geared for children 12 and under. Each week they present a different story with a corresponding activity about a STEM/STEAM based topic or person.

Join the Computer Museum of America as they celebrate the 82nd anniversary of Hedy Lamarr and George Antheil’s filing of their Secret Communications Patent, which laid the foundation for modern WiFi and Bluetooth systems. In honor of this occasion, they will be reading Hedy Lamarr’s Double Life: Hollywood Legend and Brilliant Inventor by Laurie Wallmark. This recounts Hedy Lamarr’s double life as both a renowned Hollywood actress and an ingenious inventor. Discover how her passion for science and engineering led her to make groundbreaking contributions to the technology we use every day. Don’t miss this chance to learn about the remarkable life of a true trailblazer. After the story, join in for a hands-on activity, where you'll be practicing ways to send secret messages.

Tech Tales is every Saturday at 2 PM during June and July.
