RYT MainStage Auditions: Disney’s Newsies JR.

Roswell Youth Theatre invites student performers to audition for RYT Mainstage’s production of Newsies JR, open to Middle and High School ages.

Register to audition for Roswell Youth Theatre's production of Newsies JR. Must audition and be cast in order to register for the program. Seize the Day with Disney’s rousing musical that has thrilled and inspired young people for generations. When powerful newspaper publishers raise prices at the newsboys' expense, the charismatic Jack Kelly rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions. Together, the newsies learn that they are stronger united and create a movement to fight for what's right. Including the now-classic songs "Carrying the Banner," "Seize the Day," and "Santa Fe," Newsies JR. is a timeless story full of spirit and heart. Students MUST be available for callbacks if needed. Please note that not receiving a callback does not mean you will not be cast. For the audition, please prepare: - 60-second comedic or dramatic monologue memorized - 60-second cut of a Broadway style song (no rapping Hamilton or acapella singing) with digital accompaniment. - Dress comfortably for the dance portion of the audition. Be prepared to learn show choreography as part of the audition process. If cast, you will get a rehearsal breakdown schedule at the 1st rehearsal that states which performers need to be at each rehearsal. If your child is heavily involved in another activity, please consider auditioning for a future show as the RYT MainStage commitment should be a priority.
