Registration Open: Citizen's Fire Academy
Get a behind-the-scenes look at Roswell Fire Department operations through hands-on training and interactive learning with local firefighters.
The Citizen’s Fire Academy is a free, 30-hour program designed to strengthen the relationship between the Roswell Fire Department and the community it serves. Held on Tuesday evenings from February 10 through May 5, 2026, the academy offers residents and business owners an inside look at how the fire department protects lives and property every day. Participants will learn directly from firefighters and department staff representing a variety of ranks and specialties. Each session blends interactive presentations with hands-on experiences to better explain fire service operations, emergency response, and public safety decision-making. Topics include a fire department overview, station and apparatus tours, emergency management, CPR/AED and Stop the Bleed training, EMS operations, fire inspections and investigations, fire behavior and search and rescue, specialty teams, and the role of the Public Information Officer. The program concludes with a graduation ceremony. The Citizen’s Fire Academy supports the department’s vision of becoming an innovative, world-class public safety organization while building trust, transparency, and community engagement.
