Ready to get back on the anvil? This is your time to forge freely! Whether you're continuing a project from class or starting something new, Open Anvil gives you 4 full hours of shop access—tools, anvils, fuel, and forge included. What Is Open Anvil? This is not a class, but rather a supervised, open-format forge session for those with some prior experience. You'll have access to: Gas forges and shop tools Hammers, tongs, and basic blacksmithing equipment Shop supervision for safety and tool support Instruction is minimal—but guidance is available as needed. Included with your fee: use of shop tools, fuel, and forge access What You Can Do Continue work from a previous blacksmithing or bladesmithing class Start a new project from scratch Practice forging, shaping, or refining your technique Connect with other makers and metalworkers in the space What to Bring Your own metal and project materials Optional: purchase material on-site (see below) Who It’s For Ages 18+ Prior experience required (this is not an intro session) Ideal for students who’ve taken previous classes or hobbyists with forge time under their belt Optional Materials for Purchase (on-site) 6” lengths of 5160 knife steel – $10 each Railroad spikes – $5 each Cash or check accepted at the forge.
