National Typewriter Day with Typewriter Tom

“The Machines That Wrote America”

In recognition of National Typewriter Day, Typewriter Tom returns to the Mimms Museum with a collection of iconic typewriters that have helped define American life. From Mark Twain to Neil Armstrong to Steve Jobs, the typewriter has been present at every key moment.

This interactive exhibit allows museum-goers the opportunity to step back in time and recreate those moments for themselves, using the actual typewriter models that were used at the time. Channel your inner Hemingway and return to Paris of the 1920s with your Royal typewriter! Or file your war correspondent’s report from the beaches of Iwo Jima using your Underwood portable!

Typewriter Tom returns to the Mimms Museum with ”The Machines That Wrote America”, Saturday and Sunday, June 20 -21 from 12 to 5 PM. Free for museum members or with museum admission.
