History Detectives: Exploring the Kitchen
Children find objects and discover their uses in Bulloch Hall's kitchen.
Observe the interesting items used in cooking and completing other kitchen chores during the mid-nineteenth century. Describe the materials the items are made from, their shapes and sizes, their weights, and how they made certain jobs possible. Imagine yourself performing these jobs and think about how difficult it might have been. Do we use similar items today? How have these things changed over time? You can also try some chores such as ironing, rolling dough and cutting cookies. While at Bulloch Hall, tour the historic house and explore the beautiful grounds.
