Enigma Machine Unveiled

This event has expired and is here for your information.

Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19

Computer Museum of America is unveiling its Enigma machine and exhibit this weekend! Fewer than 300 machines are believed to have survived after being used in World War II for secret communications. The movie “Imitation Game” told the story of Alan Turing and the codebreakers that helped bring WWII to an earlier end.

On Saturday, a punchcard demo from 2:00 - 4:00 PM will allow visitors to punch a souvenir punchcard on a working IBM 029 punchcard machine!

The museum has also recently added an updated STEAM timeline, a Speed Wall and Silicon Gallery, a tribute to movies of the digital era. Exhibits also include a Tribute to Apollo II featuring an almost life-size replica of the lunar module, the BYTE Magazine Wall and one of the world’s largest collections of Supercomputers. Visit with Aibo (an AI robotic dog) and play Retro Games for a memorable visit!
