DAVID LOWERY’S SONGS OF CRACKER AND CAMPER VAN BEETHOVEN
David Lowery (singer/songwriter/guitarist of both the influential indie-rock band Camper Van Beethoven and revered rock group Cracker) will be performing a special Roswell, GA show on Friday, April 15th, where he and his band will be delivering a wealth of music from both Cracker and CVB's expansive careers (18 studio albums, collectively - stretching from CVB's 1985 auspicious and mind-blowingly eclectic debut, Telephone Free Landslide Victory, to Cracker's acclaimed 2014 double LP, Berkeley To Bakersfield - their ode to both northern California's edgier-rock scene and the country-western music that emanated from further down state). Fan favorites and deep cuts will be interspersed with hits such as Cracker's “Low,” “Teen Angst (What The World Needs Now)," “Euro-Trash Girl." as well as CVB's signature college-rock staple "Take the Skinheads Bowling" among many others.
In addition to his lengthy musical career, Lowery is also a senior lecturer on music business at the University of Georgia: Athens, and has been a champion of artists' rights since the rise of online streaming services; ultimately settling a class action lawsuit with Spotify in 2017, where the streaming giant agreed to set up a fund of over $40 million to compensate affected songwriters and publishers. But for this one special night in Roswell, it will be all about David's vast, nearly 40-year songbook - one that's proved to be the soundtrack of, at least, a couple of generations' lives.
