Bladesmithing 102: Forged Tomahawk Workshop

Learn how to forge, shape, weld, and heat treat your very own tomahawk in this 1-day intermediate level workshop.

This 6 hour workshop, designed for the intermediate knife smith, will build upon basic forging skills by introducing forge welding utilizing a San mai technique with 5160 and mild steel. Hawk eyes will be formed using hammers, presses and mandrels, and the completed tomahawk head will be hung on a premade hickory handle. Participants will leave with a ready-to-use functional tool designed to chop and throw.
