Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk Roswell
This event is an accessible run and walk to raise money for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation and to honor the life of Roswell Police Officer Labonte.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation supports the families of first responders and veterans who are killed or catastrophically wounded in the line of duty. In February of 2025, Roswell Police Officer was killed in the line of duty when responding to a call of a suspicious person. In order to remember his life and the lives of all first responders and veterans killed in the line of duty, the Labonte family has set up this event to remember Jeremy and to raise money for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. The Foundation pays homage to Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter who lost his life on September 11th, 2001. After driving his truck to the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, only to find the passage was restricted to emergency vehicles, Stephen strapped 60 pounds of gear to his back, rushed on foot through gridlocked traffic, and ran through the tunnel to the World Trade Center where he gave up his life while saving others. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation honor’s Stephen’s sacrifice and the sacrifice of our heroes by supporting the families of fallen first responders, wounded veterans and Homeless Veterans. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is proud of our accomplishments, including committing more than $250 million in support of our nation’s greatest heroes and their families. Furthermore, 93 cents out of every dollar raised goes directly towards our programs and services. To date, Tunnel to Towers has delivered over 1,500 mortgage-free homes to our nation’s heroes and committed over $500 million across all of our programs. This year the Foundation is delivering over 200 mortgage-free homes to catastrophically injured veterans and first responders, Gold Star families, families of first responders who leave behind young children and more than 3,000 housing units to combat veteran homelessness.
