History Seek Saturdays: Mill Village Walking Tour

Walk and learn about life in a mid-nineteenth-century mill village and Roswell's mill workers.

Meet at Historic Roswell Square. Step back in time with the Mill Village Walking Tour and discover the untold stories of the hardworking people who built Roswell. This tour takes you through Sloan Street, Founders’ Cemetery, and Old Mill Park to learn about the lives of millworkers in the 19th century. Understand their struggles with working conditions, pay, and housing, and hear the gripping tale of the 1864 arrests of nearly 400 women, children, and elderly residents. This walk provides a deep connection to the roots of Roswell’s history and highlights the perseverance of its early residents—true testaments to the strength of the American spirit. The tour is approximately 1.5 hours long. Meet at historic Roswell Square pavilion. Park along the square or on side streets.
