Black Pearl Sings

Susannah, a white musicologist gathering research on folk music, meets Pearl, a Black woman in prison for murder. Each of them has something the other one wants very badly. As they develop an uneasy working relationship, they must consider who gets to be the keepers and tellers of history. Who has a right to claim the music and stories of the past? A moving tale of struggle and redemption.
