Welcome the New Roswell CVB Executive Director, Andy Williams
Earlier this year, long-standing Executive Director of the Roswell Convention and Visitors Bureau, Dotty Etris, announced her retirement.
This meant that the newly renamed Roswell Economic Development and Tourism, Inc Board had a big undertaking to replace her. After hiring The Cason Group to conduct the search, the executive board was able to narrow it down and select the new leader of the Roswell CVB, Andy Williams.
Andy will be leaving his post at Destination South Meetings +Events as their Director of Sales to come and fill this role. Previously, he spent time in the travel and tourism through positions at the Madison-Morgan Convention and Visitors Bureau, and most recently with the Dunwoody Convention and Visitors Bureau. In addition to this experience, Andy also holds certifications as a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and a Travel Marketing Professional (TMP). Andy will certainly bring fresh ideas to the Roswell CVB, especially in a time where the staff have put more effort into the sales of meeting and wedding markets.
Andy will take on this new position starting January 2019. His thoughts on taking over the position show his energy to take the organization to new heights, “Roswell is a destination made up of a growing number of amazing assets in terms of tourism – a community with a great story to tell. I look forward to building upon the foundations that have been established by Dotty. With new hotels scheduled for construction in Roswell and the mix of existing venues, I believe there is an excellent opportunity to grow the economic impact of Visit Roswell.”
Hiring Andy Williams rounds out the final new hire for the Convention and Visitors Bureau staff this year. The team hopes to continue the positive relationships throughout the community established by all of the great RCVB staff members before us. Stop by starting in January to meet Andy and connect with us through social media to stay up to date on all of the future projects!
Plan your visit to Roswell.
