Let's Taco Bout It

Here's a rundown of where to find some delicious tacos around Roswell.

It’s no mystery. Roswell has become known regionally for its dining scene – featuring everything from cool and casual establishments that offer fried chicken and burgers, to upscale spots known for some of the best Italian in the metro area. And while our Roswell gems serve up menu options that please even the most discernable of palates, one thing is certain: tacos make the list. Here, we break down our top spots that take Taco Tuesday well-beyond just one night a week.

Lola’s Burger & Tequila Bar
944 Canton St.

Located in what was Roswell’s only theater at the time, guests are wowed upon entry into Lola’s. Featuring a variety of seating options both downstairs and upstairs, the restaurant exudes vibrancy and energy. Anchored by a colorful bar and a massive big screen television, it’s no wonder why this place has become a favorite for gameday festivities, special events and family fun. While the menu offers a lot of options, we recommend the Latin Beef Tacos, served with jack cheese, avocado-tomato salsa and cilantro on a white corn tortilla. Or, change it up and get the Blackened Shrimp Tacos, which come with Latin slaw and pineapple-mango salsa. Bonus: Check out their list of premium tequilas or have one of their amazing staff mix up a craft cocktail.

Mr. Taco
893 Holcomb Bridge Rd

Perhaps the biggest sleeper on this list is Mr. Taco. Let us tell you: This place knows how to do it right. Family owned and operated, the restaurant provides a traditional street food experience and even has a food truck that services local business and events. Located behind a CVS Pharmacy, Mr. Taco offers a menu that includes everything from tacos and quesadillas to enchiladas, fajitas and burritos. We love building our own tacos and playing mix and match with a variety of the sauces that are on hand. Want to take it to the next level? Their street food selections include quesa-birria, chilaquiles, huevos al gusto and sopes. Even better, Mr. Taco offers a number of vegetarian options, too.

3 Hermanos
635 Holcomb Bridge Rd, Suite 2B

Okay, it really doesn’t get any more authentic than this. 3 Hermanos is a Mexican grocer with a meat counter that’ll make your jaw drop. Work your way to the rear of the building to uncover something truly superior. Guests can order specials or a la carte from a pretty robust menu. Some of our favorites include asada, barbacoa and pollo tacos. We typically snag a couple Mexican Cokes to go with our meals. One thing’s for sure when you sit down to eat at 3 Hermanos: There likely won’t be a table available by the time you leave. Added bonus: Spend some time shopping around the store when you’re finished.

Taqueria Tsunami
1570 Holcomb Bridge Rd, #855

Their website says it best: Taqueria Tsunami takes the best flavors from the Far East and South of the Border and dishes up a variety of hand-crafted, fusion tacos, salads, appetizers and cocktails in a comfortable, contemporary setting. Located within the Connexion Plaza shopping center, the restaurant has a nice menu that features, well, a bit of everything. Don’t believe us? The Thai Chicken Taco comes with grilled teriyaki chicken, cabbage, carrots, cilantro, sesame seeds and drizzled with Thai peanut dressing. The Korean Carnitas offer carnitas-style roasted pork tossed with a Korean pepper sauce, pickled cucumber and cilantro. Mouth watering yet? The Rich Man’s Taco is loaded with marinated steak, served with lettuce, pico de gallo, katsu sauce and queso fresco.

Rock N Taco
928 Canton St.

Yeah, this place knows how to entertain. It’s what we call Roswell’s locally-owned version of a Hard Rock Café, but it’s distinctively Rock N Taco all the way. TVs everywhere, a big screen in the middle, two bars that practically run the length of the main dining room, and a killer setup for live music. Factor those in with garage doors that roll up and lead out into an outdoor dining area and you’ve got a place that allows you to cut loose and have a good time, no matter the day of the week. Oh, and the tacos? You’ll find them a part of a pretty big menu that features from soups and salads, to burgers, to quesadillas. The stars of the shows are certainly the tacos, though. Our favorites are the Eye of the Tiger (blackened shrimp, mango chutney, red-citrus slaw, shredded lettuce), Buffalo Chix (fried chicken, melted queso, pico de gallo, shredded lettuce, buffalo sauce) and Brisket (pulled beef brisket, smoked gouda, carmelized onions, poblano peppers, shredded lettuce, tangy bbq sauce).

Ceviche
963 Canton St.

A staple of Roswell’s Canton Street, Ceviche is easily recognizable by its al fresco seating and colorful string lighting. It’s safe to say there’s always a crowd enjoying the culinary experience the team has put together. Stamped as “Your local taqueria and margarita bar,” Ceviche offers – you guessed it – an assortment of Mexican-style ceviche, tacos and signature dishes. They have a pretty robust tequila bar, too, for those of you who like to enjoy a little bit of variety. Our favorites are the Los Tres Sampler, Ceviche Pro, Borracha taco and chicken mango taco. Sneak down the menu and be sure to try their spicy scrambled eggs. It’s a winner, for sure. Most importantly, sit back, enjoy and sites and sounds of Canton St., and take in the awesome atmosphere they’ve created at Ceviche.
