From Historic Tours to Live Music, Escape to Roswell, Georgia this Summer

Roswell, Georgia houses a lot of history…literally.

From the Chattahoochee River up to the Historic District, there’s much to learn. Even though history has a firm grip on Roswell, there’s also room for a different kind of entertainment to add to the charming character and small-town feel that creates the modern spirit and Southern soul that make up Roswell. This is where you can decide your pace in Roswell. Are you looking to Rock n' Roll, or Rock and Relax?

Rock and Relax

Barrington Hall, Bulloch Hall, and Smith Plantation are the three historic houses to see in Roswell. Take a spin around their grounds, hear about the history of each – there are fascinating stories related to each one (one even has ties to a United States President) or attend a festival on the grounds at one of the houses. Be on the lookout for upcoming events and festivals as they happen throughout the year.

Feel the tug of history at Old Mill Park, which is the site of a former mill used to make uniforms during the Civil War. If you’re a Civil War history buff, this is a must-see stop. Make sure to check out the story of the 400 women and children (there’s a monument to them on Sloan Street).

Canton Street is lined with restaurants, sidewalk cafes and boutique shopping, all housed in historic buildings. Take a walk down this picturesque street and you’ll get a feel for the Southern soul(ness) that makes up Roswell.

Rock n' Roll

The live music scene in Roswell is growing and ever-evolving to include new spaces and events. The bands and their music bring a little something extra to create an atmosphere that people love. Catch an acoustic guitar player, Bluegrass band or an R&B group during your visit to Roswell; adding it in will make the trip that much sweeter. You’ll also find quite a few bars, breweries and restaurants with live music in Roswell, so catch them while enjoying a pint or some food.
