19 Mar Top 7 Reasons to Attend the Roswell Azalea Festival 2019
Roswell Azalea Festival is celebrating its 5th year. Created as a month-long celebration throughout April, the Azalea Festival showcases the beautiful azalea blooms throughout Roswell. To see the top seven reasons why the Roswell Convention and Visitors Bureau encourages you to attend the Azalea Festival, read below!
So many events
Throughout the month, there is absolutely an event for everyone to enjoy. There are events for kids, for adults, for the history buff, the plant-lover, and the art enthusiast. If you fall into any of these categories, you will want to check out what is in store in April to make sure you don’t miss a thing!
See live music
You can catch multiple nights of live music during the month at From the Earth Brewing Company. There will also be a special musical performance at the Azalea Festival Gala that benefits the Cottage School in Roswell.
Learn something new
If expanding your cooking skills has been on your list of things to try, you can sign up for the cooking class at Barrington Hall. Barrington Hall is also hosting an eight week class covering the Calvary Operations in the American Civil War! There is even a chance to stop by the Computer Museum of America and learn about the history of computing through interactive activities, and speakers.
Get your green thumb
There is nothing more spectacular than a gorgeous garden. If you are looking to update your garden from masters of plants, you are in luck! One event at the beginning of the month is the Chattahoochee Nature Center Native Plant Sale. Once you stock up on goods there, hang on until the end of the month where you can attend the Garden Faire at Bulloch Hall from the North Fulton Master Gardeners. Your garden will look the best it has ever looked!
With many events happening at the Chattahoochee Nature Center, you can get out and enjoy the 127 acres that they have devoted to nature and its wildlife. If you are feeling extra active, add running in the Choate Construction Run the River. Get your steps in early while soaking in the views of the beautiful Chattahoochee River. This event benefits HomeStretch’s mission of helping homeless families.
New to the line-up of events this year is Roswell’s Night of Lights: A Celebration of the Earth. Presented by Keep Roswell Beautiful, you can see a parade of lanterns down the Chattahoochee River. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lantern. If you want to attend one of their lantern making workshops, you can! For more information, visit their website.
Last, but certainly not least, is simply the opportunity to explore everything that Roswell has to offer. As you attend the different events, download our historic district map. While you go to different locations, see what history is right by you. Some historic district stops are where the event is located! After you attend one of the events throughout the Roswell Azalea Festival, you can grab dinner at one of our great restaurants. You will see why this town has such a Modern Spirit with a Southern Soul.
