Folk
& Heritage Music:
The
goal of the Bureau is to build a greater awareness
of our traditional music and its roots. Throughout
the year, there are opportunities to meet in the Roswell
community to share music, ideas, sounds and projects.
Special promotions will feature the artists and traditions
for which they are well known.
The first Sunday of each month, from 1-4 p.m., a free Bluegrass Jam Session is provided at the Visitors Center. The second and fourth Sundays of the month (subject to change), the Stone Soup Folk Circle jams from 1-3 pm at the Visitors Center. Musicians and listeners are invited.
Workshops
are presented at various times, allowing those who
are interested to develop or enhance their skills,
or to learn more about saving and preserving our traditional
heritage.
Traditional musicians who are actively involved in
the Roswell Folk and Heritage Bureau have access to
promotions through the organization's web site, a
listing in the Official Guide to Roswell, and receive
the History Maker newsletter.
From professional musicians to those who simply enjoy
listening and tapping their toes to the sounds of
Old-Time, Country, Bluegrass, Folk, and Southern Gospel
music, there are opportunities for all.
