The "KEEPERS"
Those who are known for preserving, collecting, and passing along the traditional folkways, music, art, traditions and customs are called "keepers". They keep the traditions alive by sharing them with others and passing them from one generation to the next. "Keepers" are vitally important to our families, communities, and societies. The Roswell Folk and Heritage Bureau is such a "Keeper".

The Roswell Folk & Heritage Bureau, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to building greater understanding of our culture and heritage through the traditional stories, songs, music, art, and language of the people. On the local, regional and national level, the objectives are:

  • to build strong relationships within communities;
  • to preserve and promote our heritage, customs and traditions.
  • to educate about folkways
  • to encourage participation in, and support of, our traditional arts.

To accomplish our missions, the program of work is divided into the following categories:

Storytelling
Folk & Heritage Music
Tellers Musicians
Language & Life Speaker's Bureau
